The official "Brat Tag" - It's sort of like a military Dog Tag, except made exclusively for our own special forces out there! - And for a limited time we're including them free with your clothing order! Quantities are limited so if you want to be sure that your clothing includes the special tag please ask when you place your order.

We saw an opportunity to improve the winter outerwear by observing what my boys go through with their own snow pants and snowsuits. The little zips are hard to run with their little fingers, especially with mittens on, and their clothing is constantly getting mixed up with other the other kids' stuff at school. More than once I've gone to the school to pick up the boys only to discover their snow pants are missing because another classmate wore them home thinking they were theirs!

In February 2006, after many months of working on this, we finally developed the ability to personalize the tags with a color changing paint! The non-toxic formula has been specially created to be most ideal for wearing with winter outerwear. The paint is virtually invisible at room temperature and goes deeper shades of blue as the temperature drops. At 65F there's no blue color, at 55F there's a hint of blue, at 45F the color is baby blue and at around the freezing mark the color is navy!

As a result of the new improvement to the tags, not only do they help identify the owner of the clothing and make the zips easier to run even with mittens on, but they now also give a fun and facinating indication about the temperature. I've been telling my boys who are always trying to strip off their coats while playing outside, "When your name on the tag is dark blue then it's cold enough to keep the coats on and zipped up. And when the blue is gone, then we can talk about ditching the jackets and sweaters!" :-)

Since babies tend to put things in their mouths we don't attach these tags to their snowsuit zips where they might become a choking hazard. Instead the tag can be placed inside their snowsuit to see if the cold is getting through, or on their car seat in the back seat of the car to see if the warmth from the car heater is reaching them properly.

Feel free to use the special order form to let us know what you'd like written on your tag and we'll put it on and give it a clear overcoat for some added durability. There are many layers involved in the process but we work quickly to avoid any delays to orders. If you don't request anything to be put on your tag we can leave the tag blank and let you fill it in with a permanent marker (Sharpie permanent markers seem to work best for the tags).

Normally we address packages and enclosed thank-you cards to the billing name/address that comes with your payment. But we know that much of the time these clothing items arrive as a special surprise or gift to our little Megabrat brothers and sisters out there. Kids LOVE to get their very own special mail so we would be happy to add to their fun by addressing the package and enclosed tag or note card (original art done by our artistic webmaster) in their name. The card or tag may say something like "prepared especially for Sammy, love from Grandma". We can even gift wrap the items for you too - for free!

It will cause no delay or any extra cost to your package to ask us to personalize it in this way so if you'd like this added touch done to your order please let us know. Simply take a few seconds to complete our Special Order Form with any instructions on how you'd like your package addressed, and any special wording you'd like delivered with the enclosed card/hang tag.
