We categorize the size range from 6-8 (size 9 sometimes appears too in jeans) a "boys size small" which puts us in agreement with the vast majority of makers out there. Some however call size 5-6 small too, while others like to label a 5-6 as a size XS. Gap, Gymboree and Carters are reknowned for having their own quirky sizing schemes that create a lot of confusion for shoppers. They have small, medium and large denoting toddler sizes up to size 5. So, a Gap boys size small will be nothing like everyone elses boys size small. And to make matters worse, periodically without warning they change their sizing systems so we have to figure it out all over again. This small boys size range seems to be the most confusing and variable between makers so it is best to ignore the labels and go by measurements instead. We do our best to take the confusion out of this size range by always providing the relevant measurement details with the clothing we list. And it seems to work! In 2005 we had no returns due to an improper size purchased by any shopper! In these larger than toddler sizes it's no longer necessary to go by the child's weight.
