Toddler boys snowsuits are one piece items, often with hoods and sometimes with mittens attached. Most will have at least one long zip running from under the chin down the middle to between the legs. Some have an additional wind flap covering the zip. Usually the shells are water-resistant nylon which are most appropriate for playing in the snow. Many times we see dressy styles designed for warmth but in materials that aren't intended for rolling around in the snow for hours. Most snowsuits for toddlers also have snow cuffs built in. These are handy for fitting over winter boots to keep the snow out. When sizing a toddler snowsuit measure from his shoulder to his ankle and then chose a snowsuit of a similar length. Keep an eye on the inseam measurements too. Snowsuit inseams are a bit shorter than inseams on regular pants and jeans. If the snowsuit is the right total length but the inseam is a bit long then it may mean that the body half of the snowsuit is too short. When the body of a one-piece is too short for the wearer then the clothing 'rides up' in the crotch and can be most uncomfortable. Generally though snowsuit makers keep the bodies slightly long and therefore the legs and inseams are a little shorter. As long as the total length is correct then in most cases the snowsuit will fit properly. Many makers put draw strings in their hoods. These can be a hazard to small children. If the toddler snowsuit has a drawstring in the hood we suggest removing entirely or cut it in such a way that if it ever was snagged the string would easily break free.
